Since getting my hair cut I am more into experimenting with hairstyles again and what better way to start it of with a braided half do.
Dutch braided half do
Start sectioning your hair. Make a middle parting and grab three strands on your either left or right side. Leave some hair in the front for some fringe hair.
Dutch braid your hair. Meaning braid each strand under each other. This way your braid will stand out (I have a more detailed post on Dutch braids here).
When braiding always add the hair from the top. Don’t grab any from the bottom – this way you are left with a lovely braided half do and some flowy hair at the bottom.
Once you reach the back of your hair, secure your braid with an elastic band and there you have your first dutch braid.
Repeat the steps on the other side.
Now onto the finishing touches for your hairstyle. Combine the braids with a cute hairband. I went with a bow hairband for an extra cute look.
And there you have it – a braided half do for any occasion. I love the way it turned out. Especially in this heat, I love to put my hair up but a ponytail can only be worn that many times before you get bored. This hairstyle lets you have your hair up but it’s free too.
An extra step could be to curl your hair like I did. I love the combination of braids and waves.
How do you usually wear your hair?
