I’m not a morning person at all but at some point even I need to get out of bed. A couple of weeks back I decided to change my morning routine and it was the best decision ever. Now I actually enjoy my mornings, even the early ones! So how did I get here? I’ll tell you.
Start your Morning right
I do know there isn’t only one right way to start your mornings but I can tell you what has worked best with me. I loved to linger in my bed for at least half an hour or more and snooze a little bit more but with that I would like loose so much time. So I made a change. When my alarm clock goes off I will stay in bed for another 15 min but not longer. I like to check my messages and brows on Instagram whilst in bed. Then I get up and either have a shower, do my Pilates workout or just go straight for the breakfast.
You might not know this but I hardly ever ate breakfast on a weekday. I just wasn’t hungry or felt the need to eat something. Other with my drinks. A good morning is only a good one when I had my tea! My fave is peppermint tea from our own or my grandmothers garden.
Eat your Breakfast
Yes, eat your breakfast! You heard me right. It might take you a while to find the food that works for you but I found mine. As I said , I used to skip breakfast on a regular basis but that has stopped now! To give your body some fuel for the coming day is so important and will kickstart your mornings just right. I love my muesli bowls! Usually I have a chocolaty/ fruity muesli with some natural yoghurt. Sometimes I’ll add some honey too or switch things up with a vanilla or berry yoghurt.
Here you can see my custom mixed muesli from mymuesli with a chocolate based muesli, raspberries, cherries, coconut flakes & chia seeds. It’s just yummy – and you can even name your own muesli so I know have a Blogger Muesli. If you don’t wanna create your own mix, mymuesli have a great range of their own mueslis.
Get Active in the Morning
I think the biggest change for me and my morning routine has definitely been the breakfast and getting out of bed “as soon” as my alarm goes off. This way I’m getting my blood flowing and I’m just ready to start work with so much more energy. On two days of the week I’ll do some Pilates before breakfast (love the workouts from Blogilates). It’s not just good for my body but my mindset benefits from it too. (If you wanna know how my skincare routine in the mornings is head over here).
Now I enjoy getting up and small changes really do help if you are struggling to get out of bed in the mornings. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not a morning person! On weekends I will have a big lay-in. However my mood and attitude have changed! I’m getting up with much more ease and my muesli bowl is always a nice pick-me-up in the mornings.
So how is your morning routine? Feel free to tell me in the comments down below or maybe you even have some more tips for me.

Oooh, that muesli looks yummy, I like to lay out my clothes the night before, I find that helps me to stay more organised!

I love a blogilates video before breakfast too! I think I am a morning person, I’m definitely more productive before lunch time. I’d actually love to be able to do everything I need to before midday, then relax afterwards 😉 Overnight oats are my best thing for squeezing in breakfast- I have a few spoonfuls before I go for a run then finish it when I get back. Takes 5 minutes the night before and they’re delicious!

I like to listen to something inspirational every morning! Before I start getting the kids dressed and looking after others
Your breakfast looks great! Mine never comes out that photogenic!
I needed this post!!
And btw I’m from the facebook group 🙂
I should probably start eating a healthier breakfast in the morning to help kickstart my day!
Thanks for sharing!!
I can never get enough tips on how to be a better morning person haha! Thanks for sharing!
It’s so hard to sparkle in the morning. You make it look easy!
def need some help getting going in the morning…. thank you for the advice!
I agree that exercise and breakfast are key to a good day. I also like to sleep. I have so much work to do to change my habits! Great post though!
I needed to read this. My morning routine is tragic and I barely eat breakfast. I think I’m going to introduce yoga into my routine first thing in the morning along with eating top notch granola with yogurt.
Great post!

Okay, I’m totally hungry now! Also, your old morning routine sounds just like my current routine;) I definitely need to work on that haha;)
I get hungry too every time I look at those pictures. I hope it works out for you. I just discovered that I gained like an hour (to do stuff) each morning with just being more active. xx
Enjoying early mornings? Is that even possible if your not a morning person? I hate mornings, not a morning person at all! I never eat breakfast. I’ve never tried muesli so will definitely have to try some of these methods!
Well I don’t like early mornings even with my new found morning routine but it makes it easier to get out of bed and have a good start to your day. xx
I’m not a very early morning person, don’t think I ever will be lol!! The museli looks really good. Gorgeous photos xx
Thanks Susana. I think I won’t become a morning person too but this steps just help me get out of bed quicker, especially my yummy muesli. xx
Haha I love that you called it a blogger muesli! I’ve seen this kind of concept on Czech blogs but haven’t actually comes across a brand like this in the UK so this is definitely a first (and a welcomed first!:). I don’t eat muesli as much as I’d like to – I usually stick to porridge with golden syrup but I think I will just start adding some muesli into the porridge for a smooth transition. xx
I know isn’t this a great name ?! Porridge sounds great too but I think I will stick to my muesli as this just takes less time to prepare. xx
Great suggestions Lea! I am a morning person, i always weak up early no matter what time i go to my bed the night before. I love your Blogger Muesli!
Thanks Helene. Oh wow that is just something I couldn’t do as I’m often up really late. I love my Blogger Muesli too. xx
My morning is pretty standard. Wake up, spend 5 mins catching up on the phone (of course), make the coffee, do my 15 mins of mini workout, shower, and get on with it. Breakfast comes after the shower or on the way to work/uni. I find that a quick mix of musli and yogurt holds me over to lunch for sure.
Sounds like a great morning routine!
This post is so for me! 😀 I just stopped at one point with putting a lot of effort into breakfast but will definetly try the next days to get my morning inspiration back! Used to love a good muesli in the morning! Btw, love the pictures & your whole blog design ❤ –
Thanks so much Mouna! Muesli is just yummy & thank god it’s so easy to prepare wouldn’t have the will to do something more complicated ;). xx
Lovely post! I really think that if you try and encourage yourself to be more of a morning person, and make your mornings more enjoyable, eventually it becomes a habit and feels like second nature.

Thanks Alice. Totally agree with you it’s all in our own hands to change the way we see things. I definitely started to enjoy my morning more! xx
I like to get moving in the morning too, I think it really helps me to focus on the day ahead and I feel like I’ve already accomplished something when I exercise in the morning. I love the look of that muesli as well (muesli is one of my favourite things!), that fact that you called it Blogger Muesli is so cool!
