It’s been hot, really hot the last couple of days. As it has been a while since I did a makeup post, I thought I’d show you the products I actually bother to use in this heat!
Makeup essentials that can stand the Heat
Well I do my skincare just as usual (click here for my summer skin care routine) but instead of my moisturizer I use sun cream (Sun Factor 50). I’m a pale gal so better to stay white than look red like a lobster. You know I do enjoy occasional days without makeup. However when going out to meet friends etc. I like to add at least some makeup. The following are the makeup essentials I like to use when the temperature is rising. So here are my 5 go-to’s.
Brows
Just by adding a brow product I already feel a little bit more put together. My fave brow product is from Sephora. It’s their Gel Sourcils Structurant Brow Builder. And the most important thing is – it’s waterproof! Nobody wants their makeup melting all over their face! It’s so easy to put on and stays there all day. Even when going for a swim. I raved all about this product over here.
Lashes
For years I’ve been using my trusty Rimmel Mascara with Argan Oil. In this heat I’m just reaching for the water proof version of it. It’s great and can stand the hot weather even a big water fight can’t have anything against it -it’s the Rimmel Wonder’full Mascara with Argan Oil and like I said it’s waterproof.
Bronzer
I only got the Hoola Bronzer from benefits this spring. But I love it and it’s just perfect for summer. As I don’t wanna put my cream contour on my face I use the Hoola Bronzer to give my face some dimension and just to give it at least some colour. I know this isn’t the cheapest bronzer but you only need a tiny bit and I can see it lasting me for years.
Powder
Now the powder I don’t always use it but if it’s for an evening out or when I know I’m not going into the water. Then I will use it. It’s my all time favourite powder from One Heck of a Blot powder from Soap & Glory. It’s translucent and I like to apply it with a big fluffy powder brush.
Lipstick
Now this is the makeup essential you can always count on. Wack on some lipstick and you instantly look put together! I love wearing lipstick wether it’s this gorgeous cherry red from Tom Ford or a nude one (Velvet Teddy from Mac). I feel like the lips are the only thing that holds up in this heat.
So these are my makeup essentials for the hot weather. Baring in mind I hardly ever use any foundation anyways this are just some light changes I make to my makeup routine.

Gorgeous pictures! What camera do you use to get the amazing focus and then background fade?! I’ll definitely need to check out the mascara, as i’m always on the look out for something un-smudgeable! xx

Thanks so much Sophia! I use the Sony Alpha 58 but the real difference makes my lens! It’s the Sony DT 35mm F/1.8 SAM because of the aperture going to F/1.8 you can get an amazing blurry background! I might do a post on how I use my camera as it seems a lot of people are interested in my photography at the moment. xx
Great article. I hate what the summer heat does to my makeup. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome. I know this heat can be frustrating when it comes to makeup. xx
Perfect summer post! The heat does crazy things to my makeup and hair, so I’m actually excited about trying some of these out. Great post 🙂
Thanks Tammy. Oh don’t get me started with the hair drama! I hope these can help you out as they do me. xx
I’m actually not a heavy makeup person, but I want to try the hoola powder, I’ve seen my friends used it before!
It’s amazing and even just wearing a bronzer can make you look so refreshed! xx
Great suggestions and wonderful pictures Lea! I love to try the Hoola bronzer, next time i ll be on Sephora i will check it for sure!
Thank you so much lovely. It’s my go to bronzer at the moment! xx
I want a Tom Ford lipstick so much it makes me wanna cry haha! It always looks so pretty on you! I usually just give up on makeup when its super hot to be fair, but will be looking into that brow gel because mine runs when I exercise and still have some on haha! By the way your photos look more crisp, have you got a new lens?:) x
I got the lipstick as a birthday present from my sisters and I love it soooooo much! Me too as long as I don’t go anywhere important I don’t bother with makeup but when I do these come in really handy.
No I had this lens for a good few month now, but I think I’m just getting better and better at using it and at this day I think the weather and light was on my side. I might do a blog post on how I use my lens as it seems that a lot of people are interested in my photography – yay! xx
I’m definitely going to checkout this mascara, as it’s so difficult trying to avoid panda eyes in this weather!! Thank you! X http://bloggerwithoutaclue.blogspot.co.uk/
You’re welcome I hope you like it too! xx
